| Position Responsibilities: |
Responsible for analyzing Pricing and Promotions data to help a division/GMM drive their 2-3 year business group strategy. Analyzes annual promotional sales, margin and markdowns to the category level. Alert senior management of performance issues with corrective recommendations. Provides reporting, recommendations and follow-up by category and ad date. Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis, and participate in cross-functional analytical activity as needed. Develop and maintain promotional tools and reports to provide support for Category Management and Marketing teams. Collaborates with each Strategic Planning and Analytics team to ensure essential pricing and promotions frameworks (e.g., pricing zones and central pricing guidelines), tools (e.g., promo playbook) and systems (e.g., central pricing database) meet the organization`s needs. Executes long-term strategies as identified by leadership. 1. Collaborates with Consumer Research and Marketing to set targets for promotional strategies. 2. Monitors promotional sales, margin and markdowns at the category level. 3. Partners with pricing and promotions managers to obtain data and perform customer-centric post event analysis. 4. Provides recommendations of promotional data points to Director of Finance, Retail Operations. 5. Engages and develops analysis with market, competitive, and category promotional trends. 6. Attends client meetings to understand client business objectives. 7. Works with merchandising and marketing teams to identify and address category promotional performance issues. 8. Makes recommendations to management based on promotional forecasting and/or planning. BS/BA degree in Marketing, Business, Finance or related field. 2-5 years in an analytical function preferably in CPG, Retail or IRI/Nielsen. Experience in retail data such as Nielsen, IRI; knowledge of leading analytical software, marketing, finance; experience in CPG, sales and marketing preferred. Skilled in data analysis and financial modeling, proficient in MS Excel and Access. Extensive knowledge of accounting and finance principles. Good problem solving skills, verbal and written communications skills. Proven ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and with tight deadlines, ability to identity and simplify key data points. |
