| Position Responsibilities: |
Responsibilities:
This position focuses on the development and execution of category specific and integrated toy and licensed retail initiatives that drive profitable sales and market share growth through successful partnerships with licensees, internal departments and external retail customers
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Planning: Lead the development and execution of a yearly account plan
2. Account Management: Build outstanding retailer partnerships to optimize Mattel Consumer Products business
3. Analysis and Strategy: Assess account performance, opportunities, volume potential, market share and marketing strategies that drive growth and meet account plan objectives
4. Marketing Strategy: Coordinate, develop and execute compelling and innovative category and cross category retailer promotions that drive profitable sales and enhance Mattel`s brand equity
5. Team: Promote and foster a `one Mattel` culture and ensure relevant integration into all account planning and communication processes
Specific Responsibilities
1. Business Planning:
-- Collaborate with account to determine merchandise and marketing objectives, overall account performance relative to competitors and account strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats
-- Define optimum product strategies with Consumer Products category teams and licensees to maximize sales
-- Coordinate, develop and execute cross category brand marketing and promotional strategies
2. Account Management:
-- Exceed fiscal year financial goals
-- Facilitate product placement in all major categories and secure licensee participation in marketing and promotional programs
-- Maintain a strong knowledge of retail and retailer industry trends and dynamics
-- Communicate relevant business and license trends to the Customer Business team and senior management
-- Collaborate with Consumer Products category teams and Customer Business team to develop integrated planning calendars to optimize product sell in and coordinate marketing and promotional programs to maximize sell through
-- Partner in the communication of retailer updates to all relevant internal departments
-- Meet with account buying and marketing personnel on a regular basis
-- Coordinate and manage Mattel brand road shows
3. Analysis and Strategy:
-- Where available, manage POS account collection and data analysis in coordination with licensees and Consumer Products category teams to identify growth opportunities
-- Integrate identified initiatives into the SAP
-- Access and analyze sales information provided by retail accounts to understand trends, advise on product flow issues and identify growth opportunities
4. Marketing Strategy:
-- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of retailers marketing and media strategies and objectives
-- Coordinate, develop and execute innovative category and cross category marketing and promotional programs
-- Coordinate and develop account specific POP and fixture strategies to maximize brand and product presentation
-- Attend select trade shows/conferences to further develop sales, marketing and industry expertise
-- Manage P&P budgets
5. Team:
-- Promote and foster team work and business collaboration
-- Manage internal resources to be flexible, responsive and retailer centric
-- Identify and drive actionable synergies
-- Establish and maximize all internal, licensee and retailer business relationships
-- Coach and mentor direct reports to ensure successful career development

-- BA; MBA preferred
-- Minimum 7 years experience in a sales, marketing and/or trade/customer marketing role
--Strategic thinker with strong understanding of tactical execution requirements
--Strong organizational skills and very detail oriented
--Excellent oral and written communication skills
--Excellent presentation skills
--Ability to develop relationships with many departments and influence decision making
--Ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a fast paced team environment
--Travel approximately 35% of time
--Proficient computer skills (PowerPoint/Excel)
