| Company Description: |
SMI is a rapidly growing international consumer products conglomerate specializing in the innovative research, manufacturing and distribution of unique products. Our mission: Design new and unique botanical products which enhance the way people experience and enjoy their lives. With a focus on developing products to treat CNS active conditions such as anxiety, depression, pain, and sleep, we search every corner and culture of the world to find unique plants which, in many cases, are barely known to the western world. Working with basic knowledge of these plants we develop them into consumer products which bring happiness and enjoyment to our customers.
In this role, you will work in our Vancouver Canada R&D facility and report to the operations manager, working occasionally with the CEO. You will be responsible for very challenging and valuable company projects, which will often be advancing the edge of science and will require you to be quite hands on including lots of research and analytical chemistry. Your team will consist of internal resources as well as a wide variety of external technology experts. The various projects we conduct will require strong knowledge of natural product chemistry and business, and a general knowledge of many types of life sciences including organic synthesis, pharmacology, biochemistry, and botany. Knowledge of these sciences will be a strong asset as you will be required to locate and manage professionals in these areas. That being said, intelligence and an ability to learn independently will compensate for experience.
